Description
Selling my 1972 240Z, it was imported, owned and fettled by the owners of MZR.
I got it in 2019 with the intention of doing some European road trips in 2020, Le Man, Spa etc. but a certain pandemic halted our plans.
I even had luggage made for the purpose, never used (included). I have only put a few hundred miles on it every year.
At some point it was painted in this deep yellow (original orange) which presents really well and looks great, with a sporty front spoiler and rear louvre (easily removed) in my ownership it has had a couple of touch ups (front valance, bonnet flaps and a couple of stone dings).
I fitted the period Roberk door mirrors.
The engine bay is very clean and sounds great with the trumpets and janspeed 6-1 manifold/ exhaust.
It has a facet electric pump with regulator, electronic ignition and K&N breather filters (and a working torch).
When I got it, it had a recently new fuel tank. It’s very clean underneath.
The gearbox is 5 speed from a Silvia S13 with 3. 9 diff, it has rear disc brake conversion and 4 pot calipers, sporty shocks and springs which give it a great stance on the wheel and tyre combo, an ST rear anti roll bar, front and rear strut braces.
Inside the standard seats were recovered with Z embroidery on the headrests, new foams in the seats.
It has period correct coco mats front and rear.
It has a replica Datsun competition steering wheel and ‘built by basil” gear knob (both MZR).
I removed the radio, but it’s included. The only dial that doesn’t work is the clock, but a spare working clock is included.
It also comes with the original badges and a few other bits, including a new fuse box and headlight wiring loom with relays, and new air vents that I never got around to changing.
An indoor Datsun soft cover is included.
It runs very well, sounds great and looks amazing!
It was due to appear on an episode of top gear, it was filmed for a segment with past presenters, each with a selection of cars representing their period of the show, this was about 2 weeks before the cricketer had his accident.
Lots of photos and walk around vids available on request. - details above
I’m looking for offers around £32, 000.
It’s located in Worcester WR1 area. It’s a great example of the classic JDM 240Z, in a great colour, well modified, a real head turner and conversation starter at classic events.
We got it near the end of 2019 with the intention of a European road tour (hence the luggage) but certain global event but a stop to that! Since then it’s been used for a few UK trips and events, but isn’t used enough, so it’s time to find a new keeper.
