Description

Original UK Right Hand Drive Datsun 240Z with significant upgrades.

Nut and bolt restored, professionally primed painted in the original Datsun metallic blue. Replaced floor pans and it has a pair of brand new original Datsun front wings.

The engine is an L28 based Datsun Spirit 3. 0L stroker imported from the USA with electronic ignition which gives great fun performance.

I recently installed modern CV joins and a Quaife LSD for smoother power delivery which has transformed takeoff. It sounds great, and is a real fun drive, handing nicely on the track or road. Most importantly, you still get the feel of a proper naturally aspirated engine, with the swift throttle response these engines are renowned for.

The engine sports Triple Weber carburettors and was fully tuned and set up on the rolling road by Clive Atthow in Norwich. It was meticulously built by Eiji of Datsun Spirit, who is one of the best and certainly the most obsessive engine builder I have met, and a real pleasure to work with.

Other features include a Kameari Performance Adjustable Camshaft Sprocket for accurate timing.
Balanced flywheel.
5 Speed Gearbox refurbed.
Stainless steel exhaust by Z Story with Zircotech ceramic coating from headers to 2-1 collector which sounds fantastic and keeps everything cool under the bonnet. Custom louvres for breathing. (I have the original bonnet flaps if you prefer these and they are painted).
Custom Koni shocks.
Synthetic bushings on suspension, etc.
CV Joints (I have the original U-Joints).
Quaife Limited Slip Differential unit inserted into the original diff casing. (Stronger than the sought after R200 with much better performance)
Bad dog frame rails to handle the extra power and stiffen up the chassis.
Interior black faux leather brand new trim on seats. New trim over transmission tunnel area and front.
Dashboard in excellent condition and all rear plastic trim replaced with new. Kept the original door cards.
Refurbished fuel tank internally and externally coated with POR15.
New fuel sender and new fuel system.
Facet Fuel pump.
Dual electric fan aluminium radiator.
Upgraded anti roll bars.
Falken tyres and Turbovec style alloy wheels.
I have a ton of spares to go with the car, bulbs and too much to mention really. I'm sure I've missed some items.

The radio is missing (not that you'll hear it), and there is a scratch on the offside driver's door.

Looking to sell in order to finalise my next project. Happy to show off the car and I'm located near Norwich in Norfolk. This car handles great and is a really fun drive. It has the acceleration, feel and sound that only a naturally aspirated L28 straight six can produce and is an intoxicating drive. The body is a lot stiffer than a standard 204Z and the upgraded drive train can handle the extra power. At classic car shows it always gets a lot of interest.
