COMPREHENSIVE & DETAILED HISTORY WITH 20 ESSO SERVICE SHEETS FROM 19, 491 TO 79, 800 MILES!
This wonderful motor car was built in 1967 at the Newport Pagnell works, with Dubonnet Rosso paintwork, 5 speed ZF manual gearbox, black Connolly VM 8500 hides and Avon Turbospeed tyres.
First registered 3rd April 1967. Supplied by Arnold Wilson Ltd of Leeds to Mr Heaton of Heaton Fluids Ltd. There are 20 Esso Service Sheet records on file for maintenance up until 79, 800 miles.
In December 1979 it was bought by Mr Harry Hennis of Houghton Le Spring, later moving to Annfield Plain. He ran the car for a short time before storing in his parent’s garage, where it remained for over 25 years.
In 2004 Mr Hennis, an engineer by trade, stripped it down to a bare shell and restored the car, bringing in necessary experts to carry out work as required. The fabulously original interior was retained.
His wife wanted the car to be blue, to which Mr Hennis acquiesced, as he was unfortunately colour blind.
In 2007, not having used it on the road at all, he very reluctantly decided to sell due to moving to their retirement cottage in Scotland, where there was no room to keep the car. He would not take the car on the road, even for an MOT, as if he drove the car he said he would never be able to bring himself to sell.
Purchased by myself in September 2007, the car has been cherished for the last 18 years and I've done over 10, 000 enjoyable miles, taking the mileage up to 102, 000.
On acquisition, I did around 2, 000 miles and then placed it in the care of renowned marque specialist Four Ashes of Stratford-upon-Avon for an extensive check-over, service and attending to any aspects needing attention.
In 2015 the car was stripped to the bare aluminium and resprayed in the same Dubonnet Rosso (ICI MO 35-2400) as it left the factory in 1967. The headlining was also replaced at this time.
It has the original footwell fitment Bradex fire extinguisher (and box), working Radiomobile radio, with instructions, correct electric aerial. and working front / rear balance control.
Fitted with 5 matching Avon Turbospeed tyres, spare unused (as fitted when new). Even the clock works.
This is a highly original very well cared for matching numbers car with a detailed history file and just had the benefit of a full service. and running beautifully.
After 18 years of ownership, the time has come for a new owner to enjoy this wonderful motorcar.
The car is located in Droitwich Spa and any inspection is invited.
