Description

Here for sale is my 1978 Porsche 928, guards red sitting on the original 16 inch tele dials with pasha interior trim. Its got the 4. 5L non interference V8 with a 3 speed auto gearbox. Its on 195, 800 miles. Comes with a folder of MOTs, parts receipts, and the original owners manual. This car is 1 of the first 20 RHD 928's to have come into the country back in 1978, and restored examples of these early cars sell for 35-40k.

Ive owned the car over 9 months, it drove just over 250 miles home without any issues, I used it occasionally, and then put it in a garage over winter. I then bought a new battery for it and have been using it pretty regularly, taken it on a couple slighly longer trips, Bicester Heritage, Goodwood, Clarkson's pub, Caffeine & Machine, and into London a couple times.

The car before my ownership had all its belts done, water pump, thermostat, new cap, rotor, HT leads, oil change, new aluminium radiator, fuel pump, filter, and has had a very nice set of refurbed tele dials with decent pireli tyres. Apart from the battery change and a polish up, I haven't had to do anything really.

It starts on the button and doesn't have any hot/ cold start issues. Doesn't smoke and revs out fine it drives really well, no residue in the oil or coolant tank, all the lights work, pop up and down fine, wipers and windows work fine. Radio isnt plugged in, and blower has always been a little intermittent. The car is not perfect by any means, and this is reflected by the price, it does look very good but up close theres bits of paint here and there which arent great. Rust wise apart from a tiny bit of bubbling along a rear window and on the edge of the roof, its solid, and underneath i cant find any rust. Interior is bit tatty, isnt bad, with minor rip in the drivers seat, and one of the rears and a cracked dash like they all have.

Overall its a very useable classic car, and reason for sale is I've got a few cars and projects I'd like to work on, I've had my fun with it, its been great, but have to move on and create space and free up some money.

Viewings welcomed, feel free to ask any questions, open to serious offers. Please remember this isn't a mint car, thats why its priced where it, its by a country mile the cheapest early 4. 5L 928 for sale.
