Description
Saying goodbye to a member of the family! 1969/ 1970 Red MGB Roadster. Much admired and cherished.
This car has been in the same family for several decades. Only two owners from new.
Bought from a factory owner in Belfast in 1986 it has been garaged all its life and has undergone three major periods of work.
Wings and partial respray by Mr Williamson engineering Ballymena
New suspension, brakes and engine work by Mr Brush in March 2017 at Just MG’s Lisburn.
Engine out for new clutch and engine repainting in July 2025 by WJ Taylor in Lisburn.
NB mileage is now 92778. (I didn’t have sight of the odometer as the car was having its engine restored when this advert went live.)
This car has been tuned and runs perfectly.
She has only driven on Irish roads (mainly) in the dry and has been garaged when not in use.
Insured on a restricted mileage policy she has very few miles under her belt.
The bodywork is clean and the leather interior is in good condition.
The hood fits well and all switchgear and lights work correctly.
A clean and solid car with extensive repairs and restorative work.
She needs a home where she can be driven more regularly and enjoyed
Changing circumstances means she needs to go, ideally to a new owner who will spend the same amout of time money and family love on this amazing little car!Tax and MOT exempt.
Bought by an Army Officer she lived (rain free) in Cyprus 1969 to 1974.
Brought back to Northern Ireland when he moved home to run a local business.
He then owned it until 1986 selling to my Uncle in whose name the car remains.
I am selling her on his behalf and have enjoyed 20 years of being insured as a named driver on the family MGB!
Original Northern Ireland black numberplate. (UK DVLA reg year 1970.)
An unmodified car she does not have overdrive added and has not been converted for unleaded.
She runs perfectly on higher octane Super-unleaded (BP Ultimate) with a lead additive.
