Here I have a 3rd Generation Honda Prelude for sale, it’s rare manual gearbox model in Madison Blue pearl.
I bought this car back in 2023 as a restoration project. It had stood for 20 years before then on a driveway and had been serviced by a mobile mechanic every few years. I was led to believe that the reason why it was not running was due to a faulty fuel pump.
After replacing the fuel pump and fuel pump relay, fuel was priming fine. I replace the engine oil and filter before attempting its first start up in years. Sadly after attempting, I found there was more issues. It looks like the cambelt tensioner had failed and caused damage to the valves. The block and pistons seems to be fine a mechanic confirmed with a borescope, so the head will need replacing. It would seem the mobile mechanic the previous owner had used may have not done the job properly.
With this sale, I am also offering a donor 1989 Honda Prelude 2. 0i 4WS which has a running engine with very good compression (please see pictures). It may have parts missing but all running gear will be there, running engine, brakes etc.
The bodywork will also need a full overhaul as you can see from the pictures. Otherwise the car is in original condition. All of the electrics work from the tests I’ve done.
I have the V5 paperwork in my name and keys for it.
