Description
1965 Series 2a 2. 5 Diesel Land Rover Factory 7 Seat SWB 88” / ** Rare Spec **
56, 663 miles | Fully Rebuilt Engine ++ | Undersealed Chassis
Very Rare Specification (Safari Roof / Fairey Overdrive / Fairey Locking Wheel Nuts / Factory Fitted 4 Rear Tip Up Seats)
Starts first time, every time, and after amazing engine work from Langley 4X4, not even a puff of smoke on startup. It runs absolutely beautifully, great as a daily drive in London (ULEZ/ MOT/ Tax exempt, Cheap Insurance), runs through the gears perfectly, and Overdrive if you need on the motorway. A very tidy Landy.
According to ChatGPT, less than 5% of Series 2a's have the Safari Roof, Fairey Locking Wheel Nuts, Fairey Overdrive and the 4 Tip Up Seats.
Most of the work done is to bring it back to stock, but with all the patina of its age proudly showing. Come and take a look, it's a beauty ...

. HISTORY
Originally exported to Cyprus, then reimported back to the UK in 1975.
Originally Safari Yellow then repainted in Marine Blue. Petrol engine at some point replaced with 2. 5, and Series 3 bulkhead added. Bought from a Devon farmer who had for 15 years, stored in barn and only added 2, 000 miles whilst owned. I’ve now refurbished to decent standard - see list of renovations. Spent £5k. Have all receipts. Inspections welcome. Car is NW10 London. ULEZ Exempt. Historic Vehicle (Tax/ MOT exempt).
