Description
Finally, after much speculation and many rumours I can confirm that this HRG is now for sale.
CHASSIS W144
4 speed
1500cc
Sold new in Sweden (1 of 7) through the official HRG dealership in Gothenburg in 1948.
Right hand drive (as Sweden was back then!)
Was owned by 1 Swedish gentleman when Joakim Bonnier convinced him to loan it to him so he could try his luck in racing it!
Joakim raced it in at least 5 different events.
Then a motoring journalist bought it (Gunnar Friberg) who also raced it in various Swedish events.
After that it was stored outside and there it sat until the current owner purchased it and he began a restoration project from the late 1980’s until the early 90’s
It was recommissioned in 2024
It is currently running and driving.
Has a natural patina and is fully presentable for the next owner to enjoy.
The current owner (Roger) ideally wants this HRG to go to someone who will understand and appreciate its heritage.
The HRG is currently in dry storage at a classic car garage, the same garage that has undertaken any recent maintenance work (this is useful being they also know much about this cars history and current condition)
I have been in contact with the HRG owners club and this car will be sent out to all HRG club members this coming month via the newsletter.
Many papers, receipts, racing pictures, newspaper articles and car magazine articles pertaining to this car will be included in the sale.
FYI:- our nearest international airport is Copenhagen. If you should choose to fly in to come and view the car I will collect you. It could be possible to fly in and out on the same day...
I/ we can assist with transportation if required?
Remember too, that this will only incur a 5% VAT import fee into the UK
I have a UK bank account.
Any questions?
Lastly, I am not the owner, but I have been commissioned with the task of selling it on Roger Ericsson's behalf.
£49995 ONOExciting liitle HRG given it's history and current condition.
