Firstly, I don't want to sell this, but I have had to buy something capable of towing a horse box, so this now has to be sold. Otherwise, I'd be keeping it as it's the best car I've had for smiles.
Full 12 months MOT with no advisories.
Full service, including plugs, less than 100 miles ago, as well as new pads and discs on the front.
New calipers, pads and discs on the rear to pass MOT on insufficient handbrake operation.
Toyo Proxes TR1 all-round with excellent life. One tyre replaced in June due to puncture and I had tracking done at the same time.
As well as the recent service, in my ownership, this car has been looked after by a trusted local mechanic that works on classic sports and race cars:
New 'proper' 100HP lower arms and bushes. All fluids changed at 2024 service (including gearbox and brakes). Bilstein B4 dampers all round at 2024 service along with thermostat. New front fog lights, control arm (previous MOT advisory), new battery.
The rear arm has surface corrosion only and there are no MOT records for rust on the chassis elsewhere.
Previous works include belt change in 2020 at 45, 000 miles (I have a new timing belt and water pump kit for the new owner). Clutch changed at 67, 000 miles, plus other maintenance items along the way.
Stamped service history book (only gap between 2021 (67, 941) and 2024 (84, 779) miles. When I purchased the car in late 2023 it had 76, 000 miles on it. There's plenty of history, including receipts for all parts I've replaced.
The bodywork and interior are showing their age, but nothing untoward, other than some cracking on the rear bumper (pictured), plus the odd car park ding and scratches.
The driver's seat bolsters are starting to go, the gear gator is split (I have a leather '100hp' one which will be included) and the steering wheel is peeling. The seats could also do with a deep clean (wife and kinds to thank for that). The wheels and front lights (with high output bulbs) could also do with a refurb, but it's been my daily so have never got round to it. That said, heater works and air con blows super cold.
I would see this car as mechanically good and with some care and attention to the bodywork, it would be a cracker. It drives super tight and revs freely to the appropriate 7, 000rpm. I'll be very sorry to see this go, but I'm sure it will be enjoyed by its new owner. I hate buying and selling cars, as it's always such a minefield, so I've tried to be as open and honest as possible with the condition here. I think it's a fair price and, of course, inspections are welcome. Simply the most fun you can have in a car on British backroads these days!
