Great all round car especially for the summer.
The roof is multi-layered for insulation when it turns colder.
Its also not too big that you struggle to park it but big enough and quick enough to sit happily on the motorway.
There are a few surprising practical features. The rear seats fold down through to the boot for larger items, like trips to the garden center. A neat design feature is that the back of the roof can flip up allowing you to fit quite a good amount of luggage in the back a bit like a hatchback, so if it's raining and you want to put a larger item on the rear seats you don't have to fully open the roof making the interior wet.
It also has a feature where only the front section of the roof slides back more like a conventional sun roof if you don't want the full wind in your hair experience.
If for example you are at the supermarket and your hands are full the normal boot lid can be opened by a button on the blipper. Seems that MINI have really thought of everything to make this car a practical and all year round proposition.
The car has some nice options from new like the retro style driving lamps.
I was really hoping to keep this fun car for a long time so I invested in some work, this includes:
-Replacement of timing chain along with guides, tensioners and sprockets. (The new kit is a common upgrade and is better than OEM as the original chains can be a weak point)
- Fresh oil change
- Fresh underseal (to protect against any rust during salty winter months)
- New battery
- The roof has been cleaned, re dyed and re coated.
- New roof motor and guide
