Description

Hi,

I’m absolutely gutted to be doing this but I’ve just been told that the garage I rent is going to be redeveloped and I really don’t want the Rover to live outside, so potentially will be looking to move the car on.

In my extremely brief ownership the car has been utterly reliable and I’m genuinely saddened to even be contemplating selling it.

The car owes me £4800 so offers around that region would be accepted just to move it in on to a good home.

List of work completed by previous owner:

New brushes in alternator
Rebuilt rear brakes
Replaced the seal in the fuel reserve switch
Sourced and fitted a good spare wheel carrier
Found a fitted the interior from an older model
Fitted a Bluetooth head unit and a pair of speakers
Removed the old engine and gearbox and fitted a rebuilt sdi one to include new rings and gaskets camshaft followers timing chain and pulleys, oil and filters and plugs cap and ht leads
Modified the oil pump to suit the p5 space
New sump gasket on the gearbox and renewed the transmission fluid
Repaired all the gear linkage
New engine mounts and new gearbox mount
Got the stainless exhaust sitting properly
Repaired the door locks, rear number plate light and reverse lamp, plus more I've forgotten about.
Sourced the spare parts for future repairs.

The car starts easily and drives really nicely. It’s super smooth and there are no issues with steering, brakes, or suspension.

The exhaust note is particularly nice with it having a stainless steel system.

The interior is just gorgeous, it’s got a lovely patina and it’s really a nice place to be, again it’s not perfect so please don’t expect that, but it’s super comfy and stylish.

I’ve not been on any long trips in the car but I’d have no hesitation in driving it long distance, I’d say it has as good a chance of making it as would any other car from 1969.

The bodywork has various scars and blisters and if you’re wanting a really smart example you’d better look elsewhere as this car probably won’t be for you - please understand that is why the car is under 5k and not 10-15k.

If you’re after an affordable daily driver (as I was) then this could be perfect for you to use and improve.

I’ve got a load of spares that will also come with the car.

Thanks

Adam
