Build Specification:
Frame: Jan 1967 the Triumph T120 frame (Road Racer) was made by Don & Derek Rickman for Bud Ekins (USA) Original Nickel-plated frame in remarkable condition (see pictures)
Engine: 1971 Triumph T120 partly rebuilt (Only covered 7500 miles) Sparks/ Boyer Self energizing ignition system, New 7 plate upgraded clutch, Remote oil filter system Standard Carb and Original Metisse Exhaust (straight though) …Starts first kick and runs well.
Front End: White Power forks & Yolks with Brembo Radial Caliper and New Talon hub & alloy rim.
Rear End: Original BSA Hub and alloy rims Upgraded Modern Suspension
Tyres: Kenda 18” all round Flat track style road tyres (new)
Electrical: Sparks/ Boyer Self energizing ignition system, LED Front & Rear lights and New simple loom and small Lithium battery and Modern ignition key system. The speedo is a GPS operated system, horn by Triumph :-)
Seat: Custom seat made by MotoStitch in Black Alcantara
Alloy: UK Made aluminium tank, seat base, side panels and mudguards…I have number plates to use in Show events.
Condition: The bike has been used local regularly, runs very well; is a joy to ride. Taken to the Race the Waves Event in Bridlington this year in flat track mode on the show field… see picture D
History:
• Jan 1967 the Triumph T120 frame (Road Racer) was made by Don & Derek Rickman for Bud Ekins (USA) Listed in the Rickman Build Register see picture A
• Aug 2012 The frame was sold by Metisse and built into an adventure bike in the Metisse workshops using a Rebuilt 1971 Triumph T120 engine, Ceriani front end and Handmade larger fuel tank with custom mudguards and rack. Registered with DVLA as a 1967 Metisse Confirming the original Rickman frame number (Tax & MOT Exempt). See picture B
• 2012/ 13 The bike was ridden overland from Sheffield to Malaysia and returned by airfreight. It was featured in Dec 2013 in Adventure Bike Magazine.
• Aug 2024 Found in a dry cellar in Sheffield (having been stripped and stored for many years by the first owner and adventurous traveller) …Purchased by me (V5 Logbook now in my name) see picture C
