Morgan Plus 8 V8 of 1972.
It is the first Morgan Plus 8 model, called a prototype, this unit is registered in Spain and it is registered as a historic vehicle since 1995, it has just been dissambled and completely painted in British Racing Green, the brakes are new and a complete engine overhaul has been carried out, it is a unit in very good condition, perfect for classic vehicle rallies due to its age.
Development of the Plus 8 was led by Maurice Owen, an engineer hired specifically for the position. The Plus 8 was based on a modified chassis from the Plus 4 to house the Rover 3. 5L V8 alloy block. The Moss gearbox of the Plus 4 was relocated and the axle was upgraded with a limited slip differential. The original 1968 Plus 8 was 57 inches (1, 400 mm) wide.
The Plus 8 prototype is identifiable by two small bumps on the hood near the center hinge and using Rover's production v8 engine powered by two carburettors.
