Description
For sale or swap for an automatic.
I may consider a swap for a automatic classic car, must be 40+ years old, tax and MOT exempt; and in good overall condition.
Here we have an early 1979 MK3 Ford Capri 1. 6 L in cosmos blue metallic on a T registration. Petrol, Manual, 4 speed gearbox.
Tax and MOT exempt, registered historic.
The car has undergone a two year restoration where rust has been removed/ cut out and new metal fabricated, this included the sills, doors, bonnet, front valance, floor, A-Pillars. The inner and outer rear wheel arches have been completely replaced for new, also brand new front wings. The windows were taken out, doors, bonnet and tailgate removed and resprayed in the original cosmos blue metallic colour. I have 150+ photos of the restoration on a USB memory stick which I can include.
A refurbished brake servo has been fitted, also new brake calipers; the brakes are strong/ nice and sharp, stops on a pin.
New timing belt kit with timing belt tensioner has just been carried out, also a head gasket kit, cam kit including cam followers, valve stem oil seals and a new oil spray bar.
Brand new COOLEX 42mm aluminum radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, plugs, leads and a full engine repaint.
Full interior heater refurbishment with a new fancy resistor from Capri Gear, new fan motor and new heater matrix fitted.
The original steel wheels have also been refurbished with new tyres including the spare wheel (all 5x wheels are matching).
New front and rear bumpers.
New exhaust and Yuasa 5000 series battery fitted.
New door seal rubbers and new door to window weather shield strips fitted.

The interior is in lovely condition, the dashboard has no cracks, no wear to the seats or carpet, the seats are nice and firm with no rips or tears, headlining is superb; it's a very pleasant and comfortable place to be on a long journey.
The car attracts lots of attention at car shows with it's gleaming paintwork and iconic shape, be prepared for lots of waves and many friendly chats at petrol stations and supermarket car parks.
The V5 is present and in my name, some history and lots of receipts, plus a USB memory stick with 150+ photos of the recent restoration.
2x sets of keys.
The car is located in the lovely town of Wimborne Minster in Dorset, not too far from Poole and Bournemouth.
