With great sadness we have decided to sell our lovely original barn find Australian 1955 Vauxhall Velox “Bruce” A true survivor , Built in Luton as an Export Australian model, Sent Out CKD assembled by Holden it is in Holden colours, the interior is not like the british version it is in holden's colours and style, This is a Barn find, it would cost far more than it would be worth to restore it, But it's as solid as a rock, never been welded doesn't need any, this is one of the most solid E -series that i have ever seen, lovely little driver that you can leave anywhere , anybody can go out and buy a fully restored one, but their only original once, this is certainly that, it has dents which is such a shame but thats it's history, the chrome is all there but that's it, seats are very good, for the first few years we never cleaned it so it still had its aussie dust on it and in it, but it's now been cleaned and polished the seats have been scrubbed, the window rubbers are all cooked but still do the job, as this has spent all its life in the outback it never had a heater, so it hasn't got one, All the lights work as they should, Engine all serviced, tyres all good, brakes all good new master cylinder, Exhaust was blowing when we got it so now has a cherry bomb sounds great, When it came over it had 62, 868 miles on it but the speedo was not working so that milage can't be guaranteed but the engine is sweet so may be correct, the new speedo was showing zero so in the last 7 years its covered 10. 700. Aussie exterior sun visor, unfortunately no hub caps. Again just a nice old original car that needs to left as it is and used and enjoyed and any jobs done as they require it, it's great fun, many years ago i had the pleasure of owning one of the lowest mileage E series around, it was mint but so hard to keep it as it was, this one the total opposite get in use it as is, OR drop a small block in it keep it rough wow what a sleeper that would be. When it arrived on these shores it had to be gone through and the brakes, lights, water pump, new Speedo were sorted by Mr Crabtree from Kent who was well known for bringing in cars from Australia. We brought it in May 2017 in that time it has been shown at many shows and used as a daily when needed, but alas the last 3 years it has not been used too much due to life changes plus we have now accumulated more classic cars and poor old Bruce don’t get used anymore, it is with that, that we have decided to let him go, hopefully for someone to enjoy him as much as we have, and although it’s not down to us, leave him just as he is, he has a great patina great character, the headlining is a bit chewed up and still got the mud doppers homes in it, but they have since left, when the car came home there was a surprise under the seat a mummified rat we named “ Reggie” he always has his place on the dash at car shows unfortunately he has lost his fur now, But he comes as an optional extra with the car if the new owner wants him, we have done no bodywork to the car only a good clean and polish, no clear coat. Basically it has just been kept going there is not much more we can say only this is such a genuine old Vauxhall, there are so many nice restored E series Vauxhalls out there but I bet there’s not one like Bruce.
