Description
We are very excited to present for sale, on behalf of our client, this very special Subaru Impreza STi WR1.
The Introduction
As special edition versions of Subaru’s legendary Impreza go, the WR1 still flies a little bit under the radar but that surely can’t last for long because, put simply, it’s epic!
The WR1 is a highly relevant and very quick chapter in the Scooby storybook, and one which is only going to get more desirable as collectors clamour to get their hands on the best hot Imprezas.
There were 500 WR1s made for 2004 to celebrate Petter Solberg’s 2003 WRC championship victory, each benefitting from a power upgrade to 318bhp, a thumping 57bhp over the standard STi. The chassis got some tweaks too, with 25mm lower ride height and stiffer springs and bump stops all developed by Prodrive
The WR1 also gained a driver controlled centre differential, Prodrive Flowformed seven spoke alloy wheels, driving lamps and stainless steel mesh grille, while inside, the rally- style seats are trimmed in Anthracite Alcantara, there is also special gear knob and a very cool numbered tax disc holder as well as a 2003 WRC championship plaque.
The Car
Finished in special edition Ice Blue Metallic our Scooby is number 439 / 500 and was supplied new by Proven Subaru in Surrey. It has had 4 previous owners and is showing 76540 miles recorded. It is in exceptional unmolested condition throughout and is a credit to all its owners especially its current one who has meticulously maintained and improved the car during his custodianship.

Last year’s service was a full bumper to bumper one and included a new Exedy uprated clutch and flywheel, cambelt and water pump, new Brembo front and rear discs, New Brembo front and rear pads, plugs, aux belts plus engine, gearbox and rear diff oil changes.
In addition to this huge service the current owner has also had the wheels refurbished, all 4 calipers refurbished and the air con condenser replaced plus a myriad of little cosmetic items replaced, the end result is an exceptional Impreza which is in both mechanically and cosmetically fantastic condition.
The Exterior
We’re not fond of the word immaculate when describing a cars condition as we feel this can be very misleading, however our Subaru is as immaculate as you could ever hope a 21 year old Impreza to be! The body work is free from any corrosion, dents, dings, scratches or scrapes, all the badges and trims are present and correct and the paintwork has a lovely deep lustre to it.
The wheels are unmarked and are wrapped in a matching set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres all in excellent condition. If we are being super critical, the Prodrive centre caps have gone a little milky but that really is the only thing to note.
It is also worth mentioning that after every use the car is fully valeted and kept at our indoor storage facility, which goes someway to explain its condition.
The Interior
It’s the same story inside, no frayed and worn seat bolsters, broken or scratched plastics, worn carpets or any of the usual defects you would expect to find in an Impreza of this vintage. There is no doubt that it has been treated with the utmost care and respect all its life as everything is almost devoid of any signs of wear and tear and everything works just as it should.
The Paperwork
The Scooby comes with its current V5, correct numbered service book, a raft of service and parts invoices and 2 keys
Conclusion
There is a lot to love about any Impreza STi but this one is more special than most, serving up blistering performance and exclusivity in equal measures, add to that its incredible condition, huge service history and low miles and you have a very special Scooby indeed.
