1956 ROVER 75 P4 6cyl in good clean and tidy usable condition.
Finished in Storm Grey colour with original Red Leather interior, manual transmission with free wheel. This is the body shape transition model of the P4 with the early flat front wings but the later new shape larger boot.
Now quite rare in this body shape, only produced for a couple of years 1955/ 56 as Rover transitioned the early P4 to the later model.
First registered in July 1956 the vehicle registration document shows only four former keepers, one of which owned the car from 1973 to 2020. The last tax disc, still on the windscreen of the car, was issued in 1984. From then the car was put into dry storage until 2020 when I rescued the car and in my ownership it had thousands of pounds spend on fully recommissioning. Including, New brake cylinders, shoes, and brake pipes. Reconditioned fuel tank, new fuel pump, filters, and all fuel lines. Full engine service including new spark plugs, ignition coil, distributor cap and plug leads. All new radiator and coolant hoses. New rear valances, new front and rear inner wing splash plates. New door seals, boot seal, sill edge seals and wing mirrors. Body work prepared to bare metal and painted in the original colour of storm grey. Recently the car has benefitted from New Rear Leaf springs and new shock absorbers all round. Electronic ignition fitted. New Exhaust silencer and the Front and Rear Bumpers have been dechromed.
THE INTERIOR is all original with the dark red leather seats having great patina and original carpets. The door & boot locks work and all the windows wind up and down smoothly. The Motorola LW/ MW push button radio is in working order and the original under dash tool kit is present. There is the original jack, wheel brace and starting handle. SERVICE HISTORY with the car includes Vehicle Log Sheets dated from October 1974 at 46300 miles to July 1983 at 97750 miles detailing all service and maintenance work carried out on the car. There are pictures of the recommissioning of the car and also a stack of receipts for work carried out to date. Current mileage is approx’108450 miles.
