For Sale: 1966 Honda C100 – Exceptionally Original & Carefully Recommissioned
A rare chance to own one of the most original Honda C100s remaining in the UK.
This bike was purchased new in 1966 by its original owner, who stored it away in 1974. I acquired it in 2021 and set out to preserve its originality rather than restore it. It still wears its factory paint, which is in remarkable condition, and retains its original character throughout.
To ensure it runs reliably while staying true to its heritage, I completely disassembled the bike and carried out a thorough recommissioning:
• All components were cleaned and inspected
• Only worn-out parts were replaced with correct-spec replacements, mostly purchased from David Silver Honda
• Engine, transmission, and electrics checked and serviced
• Original fasteners and fittings retained wherever possible
• New tyres and tubes fitted on new rims (original rims have been kept and will be included if required)
• Carburettor cleaned and tuned
• Chain and sprockets replaced
• New battery installed
The result is a mechanically sound, beautifully preserved machine that starts easily, runs smoothly, and looks exactly as it did in the 1960s – with genuine patina and history.
In addition to the bike, there are a pair of original panniers and legshield bags which the original owner fitted to the bike. These are included in the sale but note that they will need to be refurbished as I haven’t done anything with them. I also have the original bill of sale, registration documents, service manual and user manual.
