Description

Hi, I am going to offer my XJS convertible up for sale.

I have owned it for 2 years and bought it off the gentleman that spent 7 years refurbishing it, yes I have a full photograph refurbishment folder along with the receipts.

I’m selling it as it’s not the classic that I seem to use much. I seem to spent most of my time driving the others, the Jag is beautiful, smooth and refined but I prefer the rawness of the earlier cars.

Jaguar XJS
Offered for sale my jaguar XJS 5. 3 v12 with 87k. I bought beautiful example from a gentleman that hand recently finished a 7 years restoration with thousands spent from new body panels, complete new interior and leather, new hood etc all backed up by a photographic file and accompanying receipts. I have listed below some of the main items that were addressed to bring it to in my option one of the best XJS V12 convertibles around.

Bodywork: Before the glass out, engine out respray was performed any areas of corrosion were addressed. All underseal was removed including under the wings and everything was made 100% before it was coated with epoxy mastic paint. This was then recovered and cells, chassis panels etc were also cavity wax sealed. The vehicle is solid with zero corrosion. New front wings were fitted before the respray. After being re painted in jaguar midnight black the car was reassembled. A brand new windscreen was fitted along with a set of quad headlights. All chrome bumpers are good with two brand new rear quarters fitted. It also had a new wiper scuttle fitted and new side repeaters. The front grille is brand new as are the badges and number plates. Where possible new parts where used to add to the finished look of the car. The hood is new as is the headlining which was replaced at the same time. Hood works fine as do the windows.
Interior: The interior was retrieved at great expense in black leather by aldridges of Birmingham. Aswell as new doorcardsand centre console the rear cubby box was retrimmed to match the carpets. All carpets were renewed once again by aldridge after the floor and doors had been accousticly soundproofed. Dash top is all good. The dash veneers were are renewed by gdk veneering ( ex bentley)including the ski slope and look superb. Needless to say the cabin is a very nice place to be and complemented by the smell of fresh leather. As previously mentioned the headlining was renewed with the hood.
Boot: The boot area was resprayed and the fuel tank was removed, tested, and coated inside and out by northern radiators Newcastle. All fuel pipes have been replaced and a performance fuel pump fitted. Surge tank has also been tested cleaned and filter replaced. The boot has been retrimmed with aldridge carpets to match the Saville grey carpets in the cabin. I have a tonneau cover for the roof that will go with the car.
Wheels: The car is fitted with the desirable 16" polished rim lattice alloys. These were sourced at great expense as they are the xjs specific le mans version. These have the correct offset and require no spacers as do the xj40 versions. only around 300 sets of these were made I'm led to believe. They are in pristine condition as are the nearly new pirrellis they are fitted with. The spare is also a 16" so a straight swap if ever you need it.
Engine: Whilst removed the engine was given an overhaul and service. New water rails were fitted along with stainless steel stant thermostats. The water pump was replaced as were all belts. The starter motor was reconditioned as was the alternator. The hydrolastic brake sphere was replaced with new. All injectors were professionally cleaned and reassembled with new parts and fuel hoses. New ht leads, rotor arm, cap and spark plugs. Fresh coolant, oil and filters. The radiator was professionally re cored and checked. New horns fitted. I have missed a few things off but you get the idea.
Suspension: Both front and rear subframes were removed and sandblasted. All suspension components- rubbers, shockers, ball joints etc were re- newed. Brake lines were replaced and all calipers including handbrake were replaced. Steering rack was reconditioned. Underneath the vehicle is like new and a fortune spent
