An excellent example of a MK2 MG Midget.
This car is supplied with over 30 years worth of receipts and history. It was fully restored in the 1990's and I have recently carried out a refresh. It has no rust, even the usual areas that these cars rust in are clean. I am even happy to put a boroscope into the sills so that the buyer can see the condition from the inside.
This car is fully road legal, and I have been using it for car shows this year. It is correctly registered as a classic car and is MOT and TAX exempt.
The engine has been rebuilt and all receipts are provided as well as many other sensible upgrades such as fast road cam, Maniflow LCB performance manifold, Stainless steel exhaust. This has the larger main bearing 10CC-D engine and not the early 10CG engine that had weak mains. I have done around 600 miles since the engine rebuild.
I have replaced the entire wiring loom with a new one. The majority of classic car breakdowns and fires are due to electrical faults, and when I got this car there were far too many crimp connectors and insulation tape joints. I did not trust 60 years worth of home bodged electrics. It is easy to look under the dashboard of a MG, if you see crimps and tape ask yourself 'is it safe?'
I have replaced all of the clutch components and replaced the brake discs. This includes brand new master and slave cylinders, pushrod, bearings and spigots.
The wheels are refurbished fitted with new Toyo tyres and inner tubes.
The front suspension has been upgraded with a sprint/ hillclimb anti rollbar.
All gauges work, most are brand new. This is a rare MK2 Midget as the fuel gauge is accurate and damped (the needles usually bounce all over and cannot be read unless the car is stationary.) I have fitted a gauge wizard that calibrates the gauge and provides a low fuel light as well - that is something you will never find on an old Midget
The combined oil pressure and water temperature gauge is brand new.
Also provided are a genuine (not repro) Tonneau cover and a standard soft top roof. The soft top is new, but the frame is original.
The headlights have been upgraded to H4 Halogen units and the dashboard is all LED illuminated.
The heater is extremely good as is the fan.
This is a 60 year old car, and for its age drives very well. It starts easily and is a pleasure to drive. It has one or two very minor marks which you would expect for its age.
