Triumph Spitfire 1500 O/ D 1979
Cracking sports car in British Racing Green with working overdrive that drives a treat.
Around 2000 miles on Brand New Ivor Searle engine, which alone cost £2627 before fitting etc, Check the Ivor Searle web site for detail specs of their comprehensive re-manufacturing process.
New Alternator, water pump, radiator and thermostat. Nice alloys, drilled discs & uprated brake hoses, extractor exhaust manifold with twin pipes - very sporty. Paint has a nice gloss, just some small chips/ bubbles – nothing urgent. Solid underneath. Good original interior.
Soft-top is serviceable but needs repair to rear quarter light window.
A great weekender or daily driver and great value at the price.
Owned for a couple of years and purchased from a gentleman in Wales, who unfortunately had suffered serious injuries in a car accident (not the Spitfire). My wife and I toured Normandy and Brittany in one of these on our honeymoon (1990 !) - very practical with 40mpg on a run.
The only reason for selling is that my wife would like a Stag or XJS
