Description

1971 Ford Mustang Coupe, with the Mach 1 livery and ram air hood. It has the 302 cu in (~5. 0 V8) engine with Holley carb and Edelbrock inlet manifold. There's not a great deal of silencing, so it sounds incredible and draws attention everywhere - all positive thankfully!

I've owned the car for just over 10 years and have made the difficult decision to sell it on as I've not had the chance to use it so much over the past couple of years.

In recent years, I have spent over £2, 000 on maintaining the car (many of these receipts are available to view and will come with the car). Here are some of the main items:

- Top end rebuild including replaced inlet manifold gasket and carb clean-out in 2025
- New fuel pump in 2025
- New brake shoes and master cylinder in 2024
- New battery in 2024
- New Pertronix electronic ignition and flamethrower coil in 2024
- New drivers window mechanism in 2024
- New screen wash bottle and motor in 2024
- New Holley carburettor in 2018
- Oil and filter replaced annually

It's in good usable condition, but it is not perfect, there are a few things which can be improved if desired. Bear in mind it's 54 years old now. Door cards are worn and the auto gear level needs to be held into 'P' for it to start - a relatively simple fix this one. It's perfectly usable as a regular show car, prom car or simply something to have fun in on the weekend. In the 10 years I've owned it, I have not broken down once. It's a simple and reliable car.

It was featured in Sports & Classic Car magazine in April 2020 (see pics) and a copy of the magazine comes with the car. I also have the Marti report and reproduction care and operating manuals for the car, all included.

I'm willing to take any prospective viewer for a test drive, but will only let someone else drive upon proof of fully comp insurance. These are not like modern cars to drive, and the steering wheel is on the wrong side!

Absolutely no tyre kickers or silly low offers - these will be ignored. I would like to sell the car to someone who wants it as much as I did (hence 10 yrs of ownership).- Rare Mustang Coupe model
