Here is my original basic Austin Mini 850 MkII which has done less than 17500 miles in it’s entire life. Bought new by a lady in Liverpool, original invoice in history file, it was restored and repainted in 1999. I have the invoice for the work done and a letter from the lady confirming the mileage as 16597. It was then it was owned by a classic car collector, kept in an air conditioned garage and driven occasionally to maintain it’s mechanical condition.
I bought the car 2 years ago but recent health issues prevent me from fully enjoying the fun of driving this lovely Mini. In July 1999 the car was stripped to a bare shell and all rust removed. It was resprayed in Almond Green and fitted with a new cylinder head to run on unleaded fuel.
Today the paintwork is still gleaming and only blemished by three tiny blisters, one on the roof gutter, one on the bonnet and one under the window on the passenger door.
Mechanically it is in fine condition with no known problems.
I keep the car in a new Airchamber, see photo, this is included in the price if required.
