Description
I am selling my Fiat 126 that I have owned since 2013. Between 2013 and 2017 the chassis has been completely restored and fitted with a Toyota 3SGE 2L engine. I was a self employed mechanic at the time and all the mechanics and engineering work was done in my workshop, as a joint project between me and a friend.
It has been fitted with a full rollcage and structurally reinforced to handle the increased weight and power including fitted with disc brakes all round. The various parts bought and upgrades are too much to fully describe but I have all the documentation including receipts for the many parts bought and pictures taken throughout the project which shows how all the work was carried out. Because I have seen the whole car down to bare metal and back up, I can and would be happy to answer any questions about how any of the work was done and when with pictures/ documentation to back it up.
The car has been fully restored from the ground up with new floor pans, sills, arches and much more. The bodywork prep, filling, priming and respray in daytona yellow was done professionally by a colleague in 2017 and as you can see from the pictures the job has stood the test of time and the finish still looks amazing. Since 2013 the car has been stored in a garage and the whole car is still almost completely rust free.
Since passing the first MOT in 2017 it has had very few issues with tests and has been tested by different garages and testers as well. The car is eligible to be MOT exempt however I have decided to keep doing them as good practice and as a record, but the new owner could choose to go down the exemption route if they wanted. The current ticket is until July 2026.
In summer 2023 the car was displayed at Festival Italia, Brands Hatch where many of the pictures were taken and we had the opportunity to take it out on to the track. It gets attention and compliments everywhere it goes because it is such a unique vehicle. It is an incredibly fun and raw experience to drive, having approximately 160hp in a car smaller than a mini. I have absolutely loved restoring it and owning it, however as life has moved on I now get very little opportunity to drive it and so as it was always a joint project we have decided to list it for sale.
Happy to answer any questions, arrange a viewing and would also consider a swap or PX depending on the vehicle. 2013: Purchased
2013-2017: Full restoration as per description.
2017-2025: Stored and used as a classic, approx 100 miles of driving per year.
