Description
The Ghibli spyder wears the VIN AM115 S 1155 and was delivered in mai 1970. It is a 4, 7 Ltr. with manual gearbox, power steering and wire wheels. She now wears the colour Argento Auteuil 106 and the interior is pelle rosso PAC 1603 the same colours, when the car was delivered from the factory to the Maserati dealer FOREIGN CAR CITY INC. in New York. The car is matching numbers with body number carozzeria 10188 and internal engine number OAS2130. All confirmed by the factory sheets.
Not much is known about the history in the US, except the car has been offered in 2004 by Barret-Jackson in the US. At this time the exterior was yellow and the interior was black.
In january 2010 the spyder found his way to Italy. At this time the colour still was yellow/ black. In Italy, the Ghibli has been changed to European equipment (KM speedometer, exhaust system, lighting, etc.) and at the same time the car has been restored to the original delivery condition - color Argento Auteuil with pelle Rosso 1603. The vehicle has been mechanically completely overhauled, done by G. Candini, Modena one of the well known Maserati mechanics of that era. The body was completely stripped of paint at Carozzeria "Rinascita" located near Modena, the sheet metal was completely reworked and repainted in the original color (documentation with analogue photos available). The interior was redone in Pelle Rosso by Medicistyle Srl.
I bought the car in 2012 in Italy in restored condition. In Austria we did some detailed work (complete overhaul of the instruments - km/ h), change to European steering wheel, install a NOS ANSA exhaust, complete revision of the air conditioning system). A new soft top and new carpets were also made in Austria.
Since 2012 I have driven the Ghibli about 9, 000 km, including several longer trips in Austria, Germany and Italy. The car was regularly serviced in a Maserati specialist workshop near Vienna.
The car runs very well and no work has to be done. A report from 2020 indicates the condition 1-.
