Description
This Rover 75 Connoisseur SE Tourer V6 is a top-specification, 1 of 1 collector's example of the final flagship from Rover. Being an ex-factory demonstrator, it was fitted with almost every conceivable option - including some special order items - and is totally original, having completed just 9, 000 miles from new. With it being purchased directly from the factory in July 2003 and only sold out of the family earlier this year, the car has a nice history file consisting of plenty of early correspondence, service invoices and MOTs, as well as all of the original books, brochures and pricelist.
The car is already rare as one of only 188 2. 5 Connoisseur SE Highline Navigation Tourers built. It is rarer so with its colour, it's finished in special order Monogram Celestial Supertallic Blue, the first of only six 75 Tourers ever built in this spectacular shade of blue. With its specification as a Connoisseur SE with the Monogram Neptune Blue leather interior and contrasting Sandstone piping, the car is a genuine 1 of 1 car with no other Connoisseur SE Tourers having been built in that colour. This very special exterior colour coupled with the ‘Personal Line’ Neptune Blue leather makes a stunning combination and the perfect fit for a factory demonstrator. The car was registered to the MG-Rover Press Garage on 6th Nov 2002 and was on their fleet for approximately 8 months, completing just over 3, 000 miles before being sold to its first private owner in July 2003. The car was subsequently registered as ‘GEA 1’ and used sparingly, being garage kept, serviced regularly and MOT’d every year until 2012, at which point it had travelled a further 4, 700 miles (520 miles per annum). The Rover was then placed in long-term dry storage until the owner’s passing in early 2021, where it re-emerged, reverted back to ‘BF52 FND’ and was recommissioned by The Car Works Ltd at 7, 926 miles. It has been MOT’d every year since and travelled just 1, 100 miles in the last 4 years, with its last service being carried out in Oct 2024. The car has just been freshly MOT'd at the time of listing.
I purchased the car directly from the family of the original private owner who himself purchased the car from one of the directors of MG Rover. The original V5 is addressed to MG Rover group. It is an extremely special car and totally unrepeatable in its condition, mileage and of course its specification. The car drives beautifully and attracts so much attention for a car of its type. One added bonus is these 75s are now eligible for classic car insurance with providers such as Hagerty and Footman James, making them a more tempting prospect than ever. It is undoubtedly one of the best examples in existence and one of very few with such a high specification; it is certainly one for a collection, or ready to enjoy as a nearly-new, modern-classic British estate car.
