Introduced in 1971 to replace the 2800 CS, the BMW 3. 0 CS E9 features a 3. 0-litre engine delivering 180 hp.
This model marked a significant step forward with the addition of power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, addressing criticisms of the previous version.
Up until the end of its production in December 1975, 8, 122 units were built, including 3, 667 in the 3. 0 CSA version, equipped with a three-speed ZF automatic transmission.
The whole E9 range was a big success, with over 30, 000 units produced, thus doubling the sales of its predecessor.
The car offered is of French origin, delivered new to Bagneux and registered on 20 June 1973.
It sports an elegant metallic blue paint known as 'Natchblau' code 040, with navy blue velour upholstery.
Its inline six-cylinder engine with twin carburettors is paired with the three-speed ZF automatic.
Numerous components have recently been refreshed on this grand tourer.
In June 2023, our car was fully repainted in its original colour.
The seals have been replaced, and electric windows have been added to the front, with the original mechanism.
The rear windows are original electric windows.
The cylinder head, suspension bushes, as well as the chrome bonnet and wing grilles have been replaced.
For a better driving experience, Bilstein B6 shock absorbers have been installed, as well as a stainless steel exhaust system.
Finally, Michelin XWX tyres were recently fitted by its last owner.
This is a fine example of the 3. 0 CSA that we are offering. Matching colours and of French origin, it is recognisable by its specific driver’s mirror and its yellow headlight glass.
According to the information we have, it has had only five owners since it was first registered.
