Family-owned since the early 2000s and garage-stored for almost all its life. This is a complete, straight Rover Mini Mayfair with original parts, good history, and relatively low mileage for its age (60, 027 miles).
Last MOT was in 2014 and the car has been dry-stored since. It ran well when last used and was only taken off the road due to a house move — not because of a fault. After long-term storage it will now need a full recommission before attempting to start it: fresh battery, fluids, fuel drained/ lines checked, ignition checks and general safety inspection. Gearbox, clutch, brakes and electrics were all working normally before storage.
Rust is present in the usual Mini areas: the driver’s sill/ arch, a small patch on the lower door, and a bit beneath one headlamp. Boot floor and footwells appear solid from inspection. The shell is complete and unmodified.
An excellent project base for someone looking for an honest, unmolested classic Mini to recommission or fully restore.
Non-runner due to storage — trailer required for collection. Open to sensible offers. I’ve always loved this little Mini — it was my first car, and it’s been in my family since the early 2000s. What makes it special is how original and unspoiled it is. It hasn’t been chopped about, modified or turned into a track toy; it’s exactly as a 1991 Mayfair should be — just with some fun decals added over the years.
It was driven regularly up until I moved house, and it ran perfectly at that time. Since then it has mostly been dry-stored, which is why it’s now off the road rather than because of any mechanical fault. The engine, gearbox and brakes were all working normally when last used, and everything is still complete and present.
It comes with its original interior parts, grille, paperwork and logbook. For someone looking for a proper, honest project with good bones and a bit of family history behind it, it’s a great starting point. I always hoped to restore it one day, but I no longer have the space or time. I’d love it to go to someone who’ll enjoy bringing it back to life.
