The car is simply gorgeous, finished in stunning Metallic Tellur Silver which has a slight hint of Blue and just makes it stand out from your very common silver ones, lush Light Grey 2 Tone Nappa leather luxury interior, both the body work and interior are immaculate, refurbished 18” 5 Spoke alloys with excellent Continental Sport Tyres, car has been kept it in superb condition by all its owners including myself, not a stone chip, score, dent or mark on it, original light Grey Mercedes Mats and Black winter rubber mats. I have no doubt this is one the best 05 SLs in the UK and believe me I looked at a hell of a lot before seeing this beauty!
Car has very low mileage at under 73000 miles which is about 3600 miles per year and nothing for this engine, has a FSH by Mercedes and specialist garages and a very recent new full A service and health check completed by German Car Specialists Bangor Autohaus who stated it was one of the best cars they had ever seen and its underside was that of a 1 year old car……. high praise indeed! Brand new Consumer battery fitted in August 2025, new alarm system in 2024, new Water Pump 2023, major Gearbox Service at 50000 miles, full booklet of receipts and maintenance history, long MOT to June 2026. Lots of power when needed and a decent 35 MPG on a long run, auto gearbox is ultra-smooth and responsive, stunning looks and luxury comfort. Electric Hydraulic Vario roof is excellent and smooth with all seals and moving parts lubricated, luxurious interior, ice cold Air Con, Bluetooth connection, Sat-Nav, 6 CD Charger, rear storage boxes, wind deflector, electric roll bar, the car is in superb condition and everything works as it should. Only 9000 miles driven in the last 6 years by the last owner and myself and 15000 miles over the last 10 years.
An elegant all-weather water tight 2 door coupe with the roof up and stunning convertible with it down and with the all-important heated seats for those chilly bright winter days! A real bucket list car for those who want to have something very special, a real modern classic and the R230 SLs have steadily risen in price over the last 5-6 years and ones in this condition and history will continue to do so! So I know it is not the best time of the year to sell a convertible although bear in mind it is a waterproof coupe too so a car for all seasons, so just testing the water for now and if no luck I’ll wait until the spring when hopefully the prices will have nudged up a bit more, so get yourself a treat this Xmas or a great surprise present for the one you love
