Description
The 1956 Thunderbird has a sleek, two-seater design with a long hood, prominent grille, and subtle tail fins. A key distinguishing feature for this model year was the addition of an external "Continental kit" spare tire carrier on the rear bumper, which also increased trunk space. The optional removable hardtop included unique circular "porthole" windows to improve rear visibility.
Engine & Performance: The car was powered by Ford's Y-block V8 engines. The standard engine was a 292 cubic inch V8, while an optional, more powerful 312 cubic inch V8 was also available.
The 1956 model is highly sought after by collectors due to its distinctive one-year-only features like the rear-mounted spare and porthole windows, making it a significant symbol of post-war American automotive glamour. Full restoration was done in 2023
