This car affectionately known as (Maud) has been subject to a substantial restoration between 2015 and 2020 costing more than £24, 000, compled by the previous family who owned the car for circa 40 years. The car was used in the TV series 'Sorry' featuring Ronnie Corbet, and comes with copies of a script with notes believed to be Ronnie Corbett's.
The car now owned by myself, is garaged and used regularly on dry weekends . I take the car to local shows and have won 1st place on the pre 60s section at Thorpe Perrow and third place for the series 2 saloon section at a Morris Minor show. This year I have driven approximately 2800 miles and done numerous long trips such as a long weekend to the Lake District covering over 300 miles. I have spent around £2200 with a Morris Minor specialist this year to improve a few bits and make the car more usable and reliable, such as a differential from the 1098 and electronic ignition. The car is also fitted with a break servo, front disks and front seatbelts. It's in exceptionally good condition both cosmetically and mechanically.
A few invoices on file record quite a few panels being replaced or renewed in the 1980s, although the substantial work on the car all started in 2015 when it was completely disassembled, stripped down and chemically dipped. Panels were replaced and the 948cc engine rebuilt along with the gearbox. The lovely Dove Grey leather interior was fitted, the chrome work was renewed, the wheels were shot blasted and powder coated and the list continues, before work was completed in 2020, the bill for this lot coming to over £24, 000.
I have lots of history in the file and have history and information from when the car was new to now.
It will be a reluctant sale, however I've decided I'd be suited to something bigger as I have aspirations to do more longer trips and overseas driving. Please make contact if you have any further questions .
