Description
Original 1993 Rover Mini Mayfair but has been restored and upgraded with a reconditioned 1275 GT engine and manual gearbox producing 55 BHP (with Dyno graphs to show power output following total rebuild). It has a full stainless straight through exhaust system and is fitted with supermini lite wheels and good condition tyres and the obligatory 4x driving lamps on the front!!
Bodywork wise, Prior to us purchasing it we had a new original heritage rear sub frame, a new scuttle panel, 'A' panels, hinge pillars, door cill panels and many more panels replaced, prior to a full respray. The battery bay in the boot got cut out and replaced with a new one also. The rear windows replaced with new rubbers too so all the door rubbers and front window rubbers have been replaced. A new headliner and sun visors fitted as well. There's been a recent new battery, started motor and solenoid. We have fitted a short shift gear stick whilst re fitting the front windows winding system and a new radio system & the obligatory small sports steering wheel.
The car currently is stored in a dry garage and sits with no MOT as we just have not had the time to use - Hence the sale. We have a folder of all the works both prior and since we purchased back in 2021 Obviously this is not a modern car and hence is not perfect - however it’s had a lot of time and effort put into it and all the usual things that let old minis down has been upgraded of changed. Any questions please drop a line. The car was originally an auto but the engine and gearbox was completed prior to the previous owner buying in March 2012. The refurbished 1275 Engine and gearbox was installed as the Auto box and engine are a different design and cannot be changed independently.
All mechanical & bodywork carried out after he bought the car was carried out by a fully qualified mechanic in gold award garage over a 10 month period.
The respray was carried out professionally and finished off in the oven.
Its such fun to drive which anyone who has driven one of these will surely know. We bought the car as my first car was a mini and we wanted to pass on the fun to our sons - Smiles per mile is guaranteed. As we just don't get the time to use it, its time for someone else to have some fun.
