1977 Dodge “Shorty” B200 Tradesvan / 5. 2L / 318 V8 / 2 bbl carb / 3-speed Automatic
1 owner highly original rust-free van imported from Arizona, now registered in the UK as a DVLA historic vehicle so tax and MOT exempt.
Unique “survivor” 1977 Dodge B200 Tradesvan, preserved with its original interior, exterior paint, original dealership decals signed by the artist, period correct 5-Slot Mag staggered alloy wheels and Mickey Thompson tyres. An absolute time-warp back to the 70’s.
Purchased from the dealer in Arizona who took it an as a part-ex from the original owner and imported to the UK in Jan 2009 and remarkably preserved and maintained in dry storage until 2024.
The unique history file and story accompanying the van is fascinating - the original owner kept a detailed hand-written log of seemingly every journey he made in it including the date, destination, distance traveled, fuel and even the average mpg! This unique document has been preserved and really adds a story to this truly unique piece of history.
Since then the vehicle has been subject to an extensive mechanical overhaul including new front & rear universal joints, new wheel & centre bearings and new gears in the rear axel. A new fuel pump, petrol tank, fuel sender, filters, new fuel lines were also fitted and the carburetor fully refurbished, rebuilt & tuned.
A recent full service in 2025 included new oil, fluids, belts, new distributor, plugs, hoses, clamps, gaskets and filters. Various electrical components were also tidied up and re-wired including a UK headlamp conversion, indicators & bulbs, dash lights, new battery, cut-off switch and new black period correct UK registered number plates. All work was carried out by specialist classic American vehicle technicians using quality products & parts.
The vehicle will also be supplied with several additional period correct accessories ready for the new owner to install, including a set of original boxed 1970’s Thrush “Outsider” stainless steel side-pipes N-O-S (unused, new condition old stock imported from USA and still in its original box), plus 2 x original oval porthole port windows. These original and period correct items were purchased with the van when was imported from the USA but never fitted. These original, period correct Thrush “Outsider” side-pipes are alone worth over £750 if you can find them.
The new owner can decide if they would like to keep the van original (as we have) or use as a solid base to make a unique custom build of their own.
Please note that the van is almost 50 years old and in original condition so therefore shows signs of age/ use/ patina. Viewing in person is therefore recommended.
