Car recovered in December 2021, parked since 1991 for unknown reasons. Number plates handed over to the PRA by the heirs of the third and final owner in 1993. In the early years of use it changed hands twice, subsequently suffering administrative seizures for financial reasons by the second owner, hence the odometer reading at recovery is just over 59, 000 km. The car is equipped with automatic transmission, air conditioning, four electric windows, central locking, electric sunroof, electric antenna, and other period-specific features.
Regarding the bodywork, after proper cleaning and inspection it is sound and overall acceptable: to preserve the vehicle’s originality, repainting was not undertaken; there is a significant dent in the left front wing that may need attention, a scratch on the right rear wing, and a dent along the lower edge of the left door, though limited. Very few rust spots and not of the perforating type.
The leather interior is intact, cleaned with appropriate products and then with protective finishes; only the headlining fabric has been redone because it detached and deteriorated. The floor carpet has been washed, cleaned and sanitised, and is fit for use. The door panels were removed to allow proper maintenance of the electric windows and the electrical locking and opening systems, now working. The entire electrical system has been inspected and overhauled.
Mechanically, all fluids, the engine, gearbox and differential were renewed; a cylinder compression test came back positive, so a full engine overhaul was not undertaken. The gearbox underwent ordinary maintenance with an oil filter replacement. It was necessary to replace the complete ignition distributor that was not functioning and the spark plug cables with new ignition timing of the engine. The complete exhaust system from the manifolds back was replaced. The windows are intact and the seals have been treated with suitable silicone products. The headlights were cleaned and reinstalled. The rims were refurbished and repainted to period specifications, with tyres replaced by modern ones. The fuel tank was carefully dismantled and cleaned, the fuel pump and float replaced, and all rubber components of the fuel circuit replaced. Brakes pump, power steering pump, brake calipers and replacement of all rubber components in the braking circuit were carried out. Discs and drums were inspected. The car has been re-registered after a test by the MCTC and issued with new plates and documents. The car is ASI certified and has covered over 1, 000 km since recovery without reporting issues.
