Description

In my ownership for the last 2 years, the time has come for me to reduce my collection of classic vehicles. This is probably the most practical of my cars with its user friendly and reliable V6 engine.

Being French, it is an incredibly comfortable place to be as well. It gets loads of attention at shows and last year took us to Classic Le Mans.

Over the past 12 months I have attended to everything to bring it up to a reliable standard, the cooling system has been renewed including new radiator, thermostat and pipes back and front. New clutch master cylinder. Recently had new coils, condensers, distributor cap, rotor, plugs and leads.

Equipped with Arepa sports shock absorbers to sharpen the vehicles sublime handling characteristics and fitted with period and rare 15″ PLS Nogaro split rim alloy wheels.

This example is a Swiss delivered car now displaying 97, 264 km from new (approx. 60, 300 miles). The car remained in Switzerland up until 2021 when it was imported here by a well-known UK collector.

Repainted while in Switzerland the bodywork still presents very well today. The interior is nice in grey with red stripes. Radio doesn’t work but there are no speakers anyway and I didn’t want to cut the door panels!

I have some pictures from its days in Switzerland

Historic taxation class.

The Classic Le Mans stickers are all removable. This car is a very attractive looking sleek sports car, they offer an engaging and exciting driving experience. Very rare and exclusive too. Garners much more interest than a contemporary 911 I have to say.

With it’s dependable V6 with ready availability of parts if required, a glassfibre body and simplicity, as classic sports cars go, this has to be a sensible option to more costly rivals.

Shown at the 1971 Geneva motor show as a successor to the A110, the A310 was mechanically similar to its predecessor. Featuring a Gordini tuned 4-cylinder engine, the A310 was criticised for not having any more power than the out-going model. In 1976 the A310 was restyled by famed designer Robert Operon. Aside from the aesthetic updates the car was fitted with the more powerful and durable 2, 664cc PRV V6 engine. The car finally had the Performance to match the looks and the critics were silenced.
