Description
1988 Ferrari 328 GTS - Original "rosso corsa" colour with black leather interior. The dashboard, tunnel, pillar trims and inside of the doors are also clad in black leather.
The car is in excellent overall condition, both outside and inside; even the removable roof is in great shape and, like the doors, seals perfectly when closed.
The car comes with two sets of original Ferrari keys, the original spare wheel (stored in the front trunk), and the original Ferrari emergency equipment. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft alarm with immobiliser.
The car has a government biennial inspection certificate valid until January 2028.
In 2008 a stainless steel exhaust system was installed, but the original exhaust has been preserved as well.
The car is fitted with Pirelli PZero tyres, which have new tread but date back to 2009.
There are some minor bodywork defects on the spoiler and the front grille area, and a small crack in the plastic cover of the front left headlight assembly (indicator/ position lights); inside, there is slight wear on the left side of the driver’s seat backrest.
Other minor defects that may be present are typical of a vehicle of 38 years and attest to its preserved condition.
Regular servicing has always been carried out at authorised Ferrari service centres, specifically: 1, 000 km service (18/ 03/ 1988), 10, 000 km service (28/ 04/ 1988), 20, 000 km service (11/ 07/ 1988), 30, 000 km service (31/ 07/ 1989), 60, 000 km service (22/ 12/ 2004), 70, 000 km service (23/ 05/ 2008), 80, 000 km service (13/ 06/ 2023).
During all recent services, the timing belts were replaced.
Formally, in Italy, I am the 5th owner, although the 4th owner was the dealer from whom I purchased the car in January 2005, and they held the car for just seven days.
I have owned the vehicle since January 2005 and therefore the car has spent more than half of its life in my hands. Since I own it, the car has always been kept in a private heated garage and has never been involved in any accidents; it has also never been driven in the rain and has been regularly checked between services, always being driven at least once every two weeks.
The car can be described as preserved, as all of its components are completely original, except for the stainless steel exhaust as described above and the consumable materials.
From 1 January 2008 the car has been registered with ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) as a vehicle of historical interest.
Certainly, the Ferrari 328 is not as powerful as modern Ferraris, but its sinuous lines, which improve upon the earlier Ferrari 308, are a heritage, in many of its aesthetic traits, of the Dino 246.
Although it is not equipped with any electronic traction control, its driving is nonetheless very pleasant and, precisely because of the absence of control systems, it feels direct, honest and able to convey sensations that come directly from the road to the steering wheel and the “seat”.
Thanks to its compact size and light weight, it is also very agile and enjoyable to drive, especially on winding mountain roads.
