Description
2004 PORSCHE (986) BOXSTER S 550 SPYDER 50TH
A low mileage example of the desirable limited-edition sports car, built to commemorate the iconic 550 Spyder. Under the engine lid is the naturally aspirated 3. 2-litre flat-six, which was tuned at the factory to produce 266bhp and drives the rear wheels via a short-throw six-speed manual transmission.
First registered in June 2004, this Boxster S is number 1803 of the 1953 ‘550 Anniversary’ editions produced.
With only two keepers from new, the car was acquired by its current keeper in December 2010. Throughout their ownership, the seller has used the car sparingly through the summer months putting 23578 mies on the clock in 15 years.
EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONS
Created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 550 Spyder, every example of this limited-run special edition is finished in GT Silver metallic with a matching centre console, seat backs and roll-over bars.
As standard, this special edition Boxster S’ power output was increased from 254bhp to 266bhp.
Additional features include 10mm lowered sports suspension, a short-shift gear change, sports tailpipes, air-conditioning, PSM, Litronic xenon headlamps and heated sport seats.
The car rides on its correct set of 18-inch Carrera wheels with Seal Grey painted spokes and 5mm spacers. All four are in excellent order having been refurbished to original specification and now showing no signs of imperfection.
The car will be supplied with its full book pack, service book and two keys. The seller is also providing various invoices for its maintenance between 2004 and 2018, and all of the old MOT certificates.
CONDITION
No known bodywork damage - the paintwork is believed to be entirely original and is in good order. The passenger door handle is hesitant to return to its 'parked' position and a small patch of paint has come away from the handle. This is not due to any damage.
The interior is in excellent condition as could be expected from a car with such low mileage. All 4 tyres have plenty of life left in them. The car has had very little recent use and as such, it would benefit from an enthusiast to bring it back to perfect condition.
Although mentioned on the MOT advisory as being corroded - the brake discs have no wear lip on them and would clean up with use. The brake pipes have a protective covering - also mentioned as an advisory - which seems pointless.
The car will come with a hardtop and stand. The hardtop is a different shade of grey but could be painted to match, or contrast. 12k mile service by Porsche Centre Glasgow in 2006 at 7492 miles
