Description
Up until yesterday, this was an everyday driver. Now on a SORN as my wife's Motability car has arrived.
The car (known as 'Humphrey' as it is very posh) has been maintained and garaged. Kept on a trickle charger ready to go.
I have, since we bought it in Sept 2023, done loads of work on it.
Including:
All the alloy wheels refurbed
Replacement headlights with uprated dipped beam bulbs
Replaced the air conditioning pump and regassed it
All engine mounts
Full service (including gearbox oil)
Cambelt, tensioner and pulleys
Auxillary belt
New Bosch battery
Replaced the cracked centre console and cracked dashboard vents
Replaced the driver's door mirror glass
Rewired the electric windows
Replaced the plastic bushes that break in the front electric windows
Bought a spare key (doesnt work the remote locking)
Replaced the engine coolant
New Brembo rear discs with pads and shoes
New Pagid front discs and pads
Fuel filler cap spring
Front Michelin tyres with good tread.
Bosch wipers
Fixed numerous internal vibrations inherent to the 5 cylinder
MoT expires in June 2026 happy to get it retested.
Sure there's more but that gives you the idea.
The lacquer in places has been scratched by some clown with a scouring pad removing I imagine bird $hit. And there are distortions on the edge of the doors from an attempt to break into it (failed).
If I was to keep hold of it - I'd give it an engine service.
I've tried to be as honest as I can so you have no surprises. Bought the car as I had to move on my old T5 manual because my wife could no longer manage the clutch without pain.
So, this S80 being a large family diesel replaced it. It surprised us with 50-52 MPG and its comfort and relaxed driving style.
If you know Volvo you will know that 187k miles is nothing to worry about if it has been maintained and this one has.
It has all the extras. There is an OEM multi-disc changer (never used) in the boot.
It will sit in the garage on charge waiting for the new owner.
