Description
Austin 7 Box Saloon RP 1934
Here we have an RP De-Luxe model which has chrome headlights and sliding sun roof.
The car is in good condition and stayed in the sheffield area until the late 80’s. I got in touch with the grandson who confirmed the car was purchased from new and his great grandfather kept it running and then was hidden during the war years and then later restored in the 80’s and the sold on again to a gentleman in Penistone who kept for around 10 years until he passed away in which I purchased from his son.
The car is fitted with a high compression head and SU carburettor for a bit more power plus a DK4A auto advance distributor and an electronic ignition base plate for more reliability.
The seats are in good condition plus have had a full carpet manufactured in the last 2 years.
During my ownership the engine has been out, inspected, some studs replaced, the bores honed, new piston rings fitted, high compression head gasket, SU carburettor fitted, ported manifold and stainless steel cylinder head nuts fitted.
I’ve fitted a period luggage rack at great expense which is very useful.
The car is fitted with front and rear flashers.
The bodywork is painted in a dark blue colour and does have some minor blemishes but the general appearance of the car is tidy and the car presents well, ready for the summer season!
There is a file of information which I got with the car and extra items I have purchased and some technical information plus wiring diagrams.
I have decided to sell the car as I have an Austin open top vehicle (this was my first Austin 7) and looking to purchase something bigger for our wedding.
* This example is a 1934 Austin Box Saloon de-luxe, and is fitted with the following:
* Sun roof and chrome headlights.
* Valves re-ground
* New head gasket
* DK4A auto advance distributor and an Accuspark electronic ignition base plate (very easily changed back to points)
* Carpeted throughout
* The car is also fitted with indicators as well as trafficators
