Description
These Roadsters were a very inivative creation by Standard motor company who had aquired Triupmph in 1944 . They wanted a sports car to compete with Jaguar. The body was mostly Alluminium except the front wings due to lack of steel after the war . If fact the press tools used for making the body panels were those that Standard had used making the Mosquito bombers for the war .
This 2000 model is in excellent structural condition with a huge amount of work having been carried out whilst owned by one Harry KIRIK in Belgium . I think he was a diplomat as the car has a CD plate ( now removed) The file contains a large number of detailed invoices of parts suppied and work carred out from about 1997 to 2002 . It was off the road for a number of years having covered only 6000 miles in the last 23 years . It still has its original green carpets so I think the mileage could well be correct . The invoices show many mechanical parts , Most of the chrome parts , A new mohair hood ( recent) new dashboard and wooden trims at over £800 . New steering wheel £350 New leather seats and door trims . The car runs well with good oil pressure hot and cold . the underside is excellent with no rust ever being evident . I have the spare wheel with new hubcap . Workshop technical hand book . Summer is coming , get out there !
