Worldwide Shipping available. This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3. 8 litre FHC was manufactured on 26 October 1962 and dispatched from the factory to Jaguar Cars, New York on 12th November 1962. It is a fully matching numbers car. It has a US Title, a UK V5 Registration and a Canadian Registration and it has travelled the world with me.

The first US owner was a Mr. T. G. Lewis (presumably in 1963). The last US Title (in hand) was issued to a Pennsylvania owner April 1970 and he sold it to a Classic Jaguar dealer in April 1989. It had been off the road since 1973 with only 44, 800 miles showing. I bought it from that dealer in Sept 1989 as one of three E-Type projects and still own it today, fully restored with still only 44, 907 miles showing!
As a personal project at my busy UK restoration business, it underwent a ground up, nut & bolt restoration to exacting standards over many years and was finally completed and ready for MOT in November 1999, showing 44, 804 miles.
The extensive bodywork and paint was entrusted to Paulerspury Coachworks and the interior was supplied & fitted by Aldridge Trimming in their Wolverhampton shop. The engine was rebuilt at The Engine Shop under the supervision of the late John "Spike" Winter and the triple SU HD8 carbs were completely rebuilt by The Carburetor Exchange to show standard. Once finally assembled at Greyridge Engineering, it was tested and given an MOT Certificate (UK Ministry of Transport annual safety inspection) and regrettably had to be placed in storage as I emigrated to Canada and "Life" took over.
Sixteen years later, I returned to the UK to recommission it, give it a fresh MOT and finally register it with DVLA. Having not turned a wheel in anger, the odometer remained at 44, 804. Once registered and tested, I ordered 5 new chrome wire wheels and Dunlop SP Sport tyres from MWS and shipped it in a 20ft container to Vancouver, Canada. 'Resting' for 16 years is not ideal for any car's components so in 2018 work began on an extensive restoration of all the mechanicals, suspension, fuel system, cooling system, chrome & cadmium plating, electrics, etc... the Works. I photographed every step of this second major overhaul and completed it in the summer of 2025.

If you are looking for a properly restored, honest, rust free, matching numbers Series 1 3. 8 FHC, then this car may be just what you are looking for. It drives exactly as it should.

At every step, I retained as many original parts and components as possible. All service items have been replaced including all hoses, bushes and bearings. The Moss gearbox was stripped, cleaned and rebuilt. As was the differential. Suspecting a damaged oil ring, I stripped down the engine again, hot tanked it, remeasured everything, honed the bores, fitted a new set of Hastings piston rings and rebuilt it. The head was refaced and fitted with new hardened seats and bronze guides along with new valves & springs to handle modern fuels (at the time of the first rebuild, leaded petrol was still the norm in the UK). The triple carbs were completely overhauled by English Car Services (Vancouver) with fresh jet assemblies. The bodywork and paint remained in excellent condition but some minor blemishes and paint correction was carried out by the renowned firm of Coachwerks Restoration in Victoria BC.
It has been a labour of love for me but it is the journey, not the destination that is important. The joy of owning and driving this wonderful car will belong to the next owner as I begin the next E-Type restoration.
