Description
The car has been regularly serviced and is presented in overall good condition, with a valid roadworthiness certificate (MOT equivalent) until November 2027. One minor cosmetic detail to note is light scratching on the extended wheel arches, caused by parking in a narrow garage. Other than this, the vehicle is mechanically sound and does not require any major investment to be enjoyed as is. I originally purchased this Mini due to its rarity and particularly interesting history. It is a very rare John Cooper Works edition, professionally upgraded in the UK by the renowned John Cooper Garages – with approximately only 200 vehicles of this final production series receiving this factory-authorised conversion. This particular example is the 649th car built before the end of production, making it one of the very last Minis to leave the production line.
The car was originally sold in Great Britain and later imported to Spain, where it was professionally converted to left-hand drive. It remained with its Spanish owner until his passing in 2016, at which point I acquired the vehicle and brought it to the Czech Republic.
Notably, the bonnet features an original Paddy Hopkirk signature, professionally lacquered beneath the clear coat – a unique and highly desirable detail that further enhances the car’s provenance and appeal to collectors.
In addition, this late-production model offers one of the most civilised and comfortable driving experiences among classic Minis, thanks both to the refinements introduced in the final years of production and to the aftermarket spring-based suspension dampers that were fitted to the car, improving ride comfort for everyday usability.
