Description
1991 Mazda 323 1. 6 GLXi ABS - 27, 000 Miles - 2 Owners
An increasingly rare opportunity to acquire my exceptionally low-mileage TOP SPEC 1991 Mazda 323 1. 6 GLXi ABS, showing just 27, 000 miles from new. The car has had only one prior owner from new - I purchased it directly from the original owner - making just two owners in total.
It comes with full service history, with no expense spared throughout its life. There is an extensive file of receipts and servicing documentation, including the original bill of sale typewritten by the supplying dealer in 1991 - a wonderful period detail that accompanies the car.
I have owned it for over five years and it has been completely faultless in my ownership, requiring nothing beyond routine maintenance.
The car has been dry-stored and garaged under a cover, including since its last MOT (see photos). The paintwork presents exceptionally well and is largely like new. The only imperfection is a small pea-sized rust patch on the sunroof. Aside from this minor blemish, the car remains remarkably original and straight.
Mechanically it feels barely run in - tight, smooth and exactly as a well-preserved early-90s Mazda should. As a 1. 6 GLXi ABS model, it came as standard with electronic fuel injection, giving smooth throttle response and dependable starting. It also has electric windows front and rear, along with electrically adjustable mirrors. It’s an absolute joy to drive and I will miss it.
For the new owner, the car will be supplied with a fresh 12-month MOT upon sale.
This is a carefully preserved and properly stored example, retaining the character and integrity you hope to find. It would suit a collector, Mazda enthusiast, or someone seeking a genuinely usable modern classic that still feels remarkably fresh and honest.
I am in no rush to sell and would be equally happy to keep it, but if the right enthusiast comes along, I’d like to see it enjoyed and looked after properly.
Serious enquiries welcome. I bought this 323 because it felt untouched - not restored, not modified, just genuinely preserved. Finding a 1991 example with this mileage, two owners and a full documented history simply doesn’t happen often anymore.
What makes it special is how honest it feels. The doors close with that light, mechanical precision early-90s Mazdas are known for. The steering is delicate and communicative. The whole car feels tight, simple and unfiltered in a way modern cars just aren’t.
My favourite thing about it is how fresh it feels to drive. It doesn’t feel like a 30+ year-old car that’s been “kept going” - it feels like a properly maintained, lightly used car that’s simply matured. There’s something incredibly satisfying about driving a car that hasn’t been tampered with or worn out and is entirely original.
It stands out because it hasn’t been restored, over-detailed or modernised. It’s just a very original, low-mileage example with proper provenance - including the original 1991 dealer paperwork - and that authenticity is increasingly rare.
If you appreciate simple, well-engineered Japanese cars from an era before unnecessary complication, this one will make sense the moment you sit behind the wheel.
Please note the car will be collected from storage on 18th March and brought to my garage in Bradwell, Derbyshire, where viewings can be arranged from that date onwards. Further photos and videos will follow at that time. Thank you.
