Lotus Elan SE Turbo, 1991 H reg in RHD. Only ~18, 650 miles on the clock since new. Pacific Blue metallic (the best-selling colour for the Elan M100). The previous owner visited the London Lotus Centres stand at the motorfair exhibition in 1989 and placed an order then and there for delivery in 1991 (I have the letters in the records). It has the top spec leather seats with red stripes and red carpets and even has air conditioning (though not charged / in use currently)
All older MOTs (and Tax discs) were kept and more recent history available online. 6, 000 mile service performed by London Lotus Service Centre, 12, 000 by Haydon Daytune Ltd. Extensive receipts from former owner.
I purchased the car in 2018 and have driven about 1, 000 miles since (the idea being to save it to enjoy when I retire). The vast majority of this time it has been stored in a dry garage under the Lotus cover shown. When I purchased it, I found that the fuel tank was split so I immediately replaced that ~£600 and I have also spent ~£1K having the brakes uprated to four pot (blue) calipers and vented discs. Lots of tread on all four tyres.
Points to be aware of; there is a mark on the bonnet shown in one of the photos where it was briefly (3 months) stored outside under a supposedly waterproof Lotus Elan cover, this mark apparently is common if wet for a period in contact with a cover. There are also some marks on the rear passenger corner where items fell off a nearby shelf. I had a quote a year back from a local paint specialist of £1, 250 to rectify all of these. The roof is also in particularly poor shape with rips as shown by the photos and will need replacing (though the hard to replace seals are in very good shape for the age). The roof was in this shape when I bought it and the previous owner said he never drove it with the roof up.
It is an amazing example of this car, I should know, it is my fourth. It drives like a brand-new car in my opinion (which is saying something after 35 years)
