Description
A Toyota Celica 23gt 1600cc twin cam one of 100 imported in 1977 to celebrate Win Percy’s success in the British Touring Car Championship. There are 8 known survivors and 3 roadworthy ones . The vehicle has been owned 27years and restored 8 years ago with new panels although the shell was very sound. The car has been retained as original 1600cc 2t-g engine , 5 speed box and limited slip diff as standard , runs very well and has been to the nec show and will be there again next week . This vehicle is highly collectible and this longer nose model is often preferred to the shorter Ta22gt . Repainted in original burnt orange , I have photographic records of its restoration . Quite a lot of service history throughout its life just had a full new exhaust all the way through and attended the letterkenny massive Toyota gathering in the Republic of Ireland last year and completed the 650 mile trip without missing a beat . Only for sale due to downsizing my collection as I have a number of others so will still enjoy the fun of driving behind this twin cam engine !It’s a rare and unique car in good order and very collectible. In regular use and shown at a number of classic car shows . Registered late 1977 and bought by myself in 1999 from a lady who I knew who had it 10yrs . Lot of history including bills plus a continuous run of 17 consecutive tax discs confirming where it had lived across the uk . Always dry stored in my ownership . An original car with considerable history in support supporting the genuine mileage of 98k, ideal for the collector .
