1982 Jaguar XJ-S V12 HE finished in Sapphire Blue Metallic with Black Leather interior. Historic Vehicle with MOT until August 2026. This is a genuine low owner, low mileage car covering just 67, 500 miles from new, with one keeper for 38 years. Never restored and very original. Supplied new from Henly’s Dealership of West London with extensive history file including a signed letter from John Egan. Original Handbook, Radio including manual, toolkit and two sets of original keys.
Extensive recommissioning in the last 2 years from top to bottom resulting in a V12 jaguar that runs and drives beautifully. This 1982 XJ-S HE was manufactured in the first year to feature the ‘Fire Ball’ High Efficiency combustion chamber designed by Swiss engineer Michael May resulting in more power and better fuel economy at 22- 24 mpg. The long standing owner added AJ6 Engineering super enhanced ECU and large throttle kit increasing power to well over 300HP, making this a very fast car when required. Gearbox changes nicely as expected and the axle is quiet.
Recent work carried out includes full major service with new spark plugs, rebuilt Distributor, new Ignition Coil, radiator recored and all hoses replaced, fuel system overhaul with cleaned out tank and a new fuel pump, air conditioning stripped and replaced with later Delair Mk II system, braking system overhaul, new correct all matching Pirelli P5 215/ 70WR 15 tyres on excellent condition Starfish alloy wheels and a new battery.
Everything works perfectly including the air conditioning, which is rare, the electric clock and the original radio with the original electric aerial.
The bodywork is in very good condition, the paintwork has had various spray works over the years but looks very presentable from a distance. Bright work is in very good original condition. The car was treated with waxoyl from new and has always been garaged, resulting in an underside in excellent solid condition that has never been welded. Engine bay is tidy and honest.
The black leather interior is in excellent condition with a lovely patina and smell. Original carpets and roof lining in very good condition with no wear, stains, rips or holes. Walnut veneer is good but has a couple of small cracks. Switchgear is all working correctly, as are all warning lights.
This classic Jaguar XJ-S is perfect as an everyday driver and is an absolute joy to drive.
