Description
Finished in lovely Atlanta Blue metallic with a Sand Beige leather interior, this 1997 BMW Z3 1. 9i Roadster is a very well-kept and increasingly desirable example showing just 65, 000 miles.
The car is in excellent condition overall. The bodywork presents very well, with only a few minor stone chips consistent with age, while the interior is especially impressive and almost flawless. The Sand Beige leather is beautifully preserved and works perfectly with the Atlanta Blue paintwork.
It also comes with an excellent history file, including a stack of invoices going back more than 10 years, along with a brand new MOT valid until March 2027 and a recent oil service. Included with the car are the full original handbook pack and two keys.
Recent work includes:
Engine mounts replaced
Front wishbones and bushes replaced on both sides
Track rod ends replaced on both sides
Brand new pads and discs all round
New catalytic converter
New thermostat
Exhaust rubbers replaced
Headlights recently reconditioned
The car is also sitting on new rear tyres, with the front tyres still having good life left in them.
A nice set of original and desirable extras comes with the car, including the original tonneau cover, a wind deflector, and the original working tape deck, all of which add to its period charm and originality.
The rare electric soft top is tight, well sealed, and operates as it should. The car starts and idles perfectly, handles very well, tracks straight, and brakes confidently, with no warning lights showing. The 5-spoke alloys are also in very good condition, with only a few tiny blemishes.
Finished in one of the Z3’s most iconic colour combinations, this is also a screen-accurate GoldenEye-spec example, giving it an extra layer of appeal for BMW and Bond enthusiasts alike.
This Z3 has been garaged and kept covered, and it shows in the way the car presents. It has clearly been cared for properly and maintained as needed. I am only selling because I now have a young family, so it simply doesn’t get the use it deserves.
As you would expect from a nearly 30-year-old car, there are a few minor age-related marks such as stone chips, and there is also a small area of corrosion on the sill cover rather than the sill itself, as noted on the MOT and shown in the photos. Overall, however, it presents exceptionally well and is a very honest example.
Low mileage, an excellent colour combination, rare electric hood, strong history file, desirable original extras, and a substantial amount of recent maintenance all make this a standout example. It is a smart, honest and very usable modern classic that needs no immediate jobs and is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
