Description

NEW MOT WITH NO ADVISORIES (not surprisingly!) on 13th April 2026.

The 1995–2000 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur (often referred to as the "Mark IV") was not officially badged as a "Mark IV" because the number four represents death in some East Asian languages. Due to this superstition, Rolls-Royce marketed the revised model simply as the "New Silver Spirit/ Spur,"

Only a few of the Mark IV Silver Spurs were produced without the light pressure turbo for the 1995 onwards production. When the final series was introduced late in 1995 for the 1996 model year, they featured significant updates, including a new Zytek engine management system, but some early examples did not carry the turbocharged engine that became standard later. This is to your advantage since the power is more than adequate, yet more reliable than the LPT models. No more than 97 of these non-LPT models were believed to have been made of which maybe only 24 survive on the road and this is most probably the lowest mileage example there is in the U. K.

Yet you still get the rear reclining seats, picnic tables and on-board headrest screens as an option on this example.

There have been 4 previous owners before me, the last having had it for 9 years when he did just 3, 000 miles, and always kept the car garaged, as have we, at a secure, heated location.

We took the car for a 'shake down' run to Devon in view of it's lack of use and spent £4205. 23 to sort out some niggles, since when the car has been a dream to drive - indeed we have just returned from a weekend trip to Lille in France (21/ 4/ 26) without any fear of a breakdown, having just completed its annual service (£1, 473. 59). The last owner had it cared for by the renowned West Hoathley Garage, second generation independent Rolls Royce and Bentley specialists, a policy we have followed since they know the car so well. It's virtually mint condition is testament to the fastidious attention the previous enthusiast owner lavished on the car (and a Silver Shadow in his collection) and in our custodianship it has wanted for nothing with West Hoathley Garage servicing it.

The previous owner had the car ceramic coated and Lanoguard treated on the underside. I am told the owner prior to that had the suspension 'chipped' to make a slightly softer ride.

A new acquisition in our classic car collection means we think the time is right to pass this exceptional vehicle onto a new custodian. Frankly, I wish I could keep it but t’other half insists on ‘one in, one out’, and with seven cars I can’t argue, so go it must despite being one of the classics I always salivated over. In that I am not alone. It is an automotive design masterpiece, an outstanding grand tourer with the comfort and luxury Rolls Royce are known for plus a satisfying turn of speed when required.

Late 1995 Rolls-Royce Silver Spurs (specifically late Mark IV/ final editions) are regarded by motoring media as the pinnacle of that generation's refinement, featuring improved 16-inch wheels for better handling, integrated bumpers, and more advanced electronics. Critics highlighted the incredible comfort and handcrafted luxury. They are often referred to as the last of the "true" Crewe-built cars before the company split, marking the end of an era of traditional Rolls-Royce engineering, as described by publications like Octane.

These final iterations are highly sought after by collectors for combining the classic Rolls Royce, long-wheelbase elegance with the best possible engineering from that long-running platform.

The number plate will change on sale. I've had 49 cars in 52 years of motoring and this car was always in my sights as one to have, and this is in the most popular blue and magnolia combination. It gets lots of admiring glances and comments, unsurprisingly. Yes, I'm a classic car enthusiast and this is indeed a classic - and regarded as such by motor insurers. I'm a member of the RREC, JEC, JOC, Goodwood and others.

Grab yourself a piece of automotive history with this car that is fit to display in any collection or car museum, although personally I'd be driving it as often as possible, as I do. We've glided along around the UK and had two delightful trips into France with this car, and intended to go to Prague then onto The Netherlands in it later this year, but another in our collection is now earmarked for that. However, I am confident of it's ability to take us to Prague and beyond, should the need arise.
