An extremely rare Morris Ital being the top of the range HLS model with the much desired 2. 0 O-series engine mated to a BW65 3-speed automatic gearbox. This all makes for a fantastic combination of a high spec beautiful classic. Car is in very good solid condition throughout and drives well with the auto gearbox changing smoothly as it should.
Recent work done included all five wheel’s powder coated each shod with new tyres fitted. Full engine and gearbox service. Paintwork has been detailed. The original radio works well with new door speakers fitted.
Some added accessories I’ve installed, a pair of excellent condition front Lucas spot lamps which are correctly wired and fully functioning. Both mounted on original NOS BL Ital bespoke brackets. A NOS original cassette tape player for that retro sound we all remember from that era. Extension driver seat rails allowing more comfortable adjustment for taller drivers.
Car has been rust proofed from early in its life, possibly from new, so is remarkably solid and generally rust free. Dash and interior are in excellent condition and very comfortable to sit in. It’s just a nice place to be.
A good vehicle history is included with many older and recent bills for work carried out. There are a few early ownership photos including some restoration work that was undertaken around 2010. Also, a few old tax discs.
I fixed several previous owner electrical etc bodges and all are now properly sorted. Wiring diagrams are provided for the improvements and upgrades that I’ve fitted. I’ve done a ton of work including much expense to save and get this Ital to the sorted and reliable condition its now in.
Remember, you’re not buying a new or fully restored car here, it’s not a concourse show winner. But it is an ultra-rare 2. 0 HLS auto having scope for further improvements should you so desire. It enjoys its own level of patina and age-related marks commensurate with a very good condition classic car of this age. A couple small blemishes on the paint for example.
I’ve owned the Ital for about a year now and have had my fun fixing what needs doing and tooting around locally to car meets and shows so time to let someone else enjoy the fruits of my labour.
