Description
Partly renovated 1935 registered (1936 model) Rover 10 Saloon. This car had a partial chassis and body renovation some years ago. Bought as a runner (engine started from a drip) but I haven't touched the mechanics yet, preferring to take a systematic approach starting with the bodywork. Because the car had to stand outside all winter (and thinking of the neighbours) I painted it temporarily... the intention is to coach paint it when everything else is completed. Stage 2 is underway - the interior. One of the four doors is complete and I have reupholstered the seats (although the original leatherette covers for the rear seat will be included). The only reason for offering for sale at this stage is that there is pressure on my drive space because I have bought a new boat, and the Rover is too big for my garage. I would be interested in another classic car which is smaller than the Rover so it will fit in my garage or is road-ready so I can park it legally on the road outside my house. As the renovation progresses the price of the car will increase. Very innovative in the 1930s, it has a freewheel mechanism, multiple oil and grease points etc.
Ultimately, my intention is/ was to apply WW2 blackout features and take it to 40s Events.
